Some places don't allow those kinds of pictures. For example in Greece, you are not allowed to take pictures of yourself while doing "uncommon" stuff in historical places. While for example in Egypt, this is not a problem. Those rules were written for the sake of money and control. It has nothing to do with spirituality and holiness. I don't respect rules which make no sense to me (thanks to covid! this was one of my lessons!). So I do whatever I can and whenever I can... And many times, other visitors also photograph me...
